26 July 2021, Kargil Martyrs Memorial, Shukratal, Muzaffarnagar – At present there are 2 Kargil Martyrs Memorial in the country, one in Dras which is operated by Indian Army and the other in Shukratal which is operated by National Military Organization.
While conducting a huge public meeting organized on Kargil Vijay Diwas here today, Captain Suresh Chandra Tyagi, President of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Uttar Pradesh and Captain Praveen Choudhary first of all told the newly elected District Panchayat President Shri Veerpal Nirwal present in the meeting that this memorial should be beautified on a large scale. For which Shri Nirwal ji promised to complete the work in front of everyone within a year, keeping Ganga Maiya as a witness.
Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh, former Vice-Army husband and chief guest of the Indian Army, after climbing the Kargil memorial, told that 527 soldiers had martyred in Kargil, more than 1300 soldiers were injured, an area of ??about 150 km was penetrated by Pakistan. and the Kargil war lasted for about two months. The Line of Control was not allowed to be crossed and the Air Force was not even allowed to be used initially, yet the brave soldiers of the Indian Army killed about 3000 soldiers of Pakistan stationed at a height and won the Kargil War. |
Col Tejendra Pal Tyagi, the National President of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, who received the Vir Chakra, said that in 1973, our pension was reduced from two thirds to half. The leaders of the country kept saying that we are proud of our soldiers, but their officers kept on beating us. Today's soldier is not a less educated soldier of 1947, he has a smart mobile phone and he also watches television, which keeps him aware of the speech and conduct of his leaders. Every soldier of the army has devotion to duty, training, discipline and honesty. If this had not happened, then in India of 135 crores, the army of only 13 lakhs would not have been able to protect about 15 thousand kilometers of the border and control the situation in internal calamities. Now we demand with authority that the rule should be passed to nominate at least two ex-servicemen in the District Council, Municipal Corporation, Legislative Assembly of the states and Rajya Sabha of the country without any delay.
On this occasion, Hapur unit of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha under the leadership of Shri Gyanendra Tyagi, Baghpat unit under the leadership of Shri Harendra Arya, District President of Muzaffarnagar, Gaurav Senani Ashok Kumar and hundreds of local pride fighters, Patriotic citizens from remote villages, NCC Kaditus, a member of the women's wing also made a collective pledge that at least one martyr's family would be looked after and a sapling would be planted.
