A “Jal Committee” should be formed in every society – Jal Purush


30th May, Headquarters Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, 133 B Modal Town East, Ghaziabad – Today a webinar was organized by the National Vanguard of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha on the topic “How to conserve water in urban areas”. The chief guest of the webinar, Nobel Prize winner Jal Purush Dr. Rajendra Singh said that the problem is – encroachment, pollution and water exploitation. He said that the solution is to constitute a “Water Committee” in each society, which not only audits the encroachment, pollution and groundwater exploitation in the reservoir, but is also capable of questioning the administration firmly. If the administration does not listen, then go to the court.

Defense expert Major General Ajay Chaturvedi told that water is not only life, it is also a weapon for which wars will be fought. He told with full data and examples that each household can save half of the water it uses. Not doing rain water harvesting should be considered a social crime and "Jal Samiti" should paste public posters of such people.

Uday Shankar Pani, the director and producer of the film industry, said that he has spoken to Shekhar Kapur who will soon make a film on "Jal Waste". National Trustee of the Bahá'í Society, Dr. AK Merchant, said that in 2015, the United Nations had set a development goal for 2030 in Section 6 of the sustainable management of water. Marathon Runner Commander Kumresh Sharma told that he has prepared a technique to convert Floating Debris from any reservoir into compost with Bioremediation technology. Colonel Shamsher Singh said that separate pipelines of black and brown water should be installed for water conservation.

National President of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi, who received Vir Chakra, said that all the suggestions will be sent to the Ministry of Water with detailed analysis and demand will be made that the first pilot project of water conservation should be run in Ghaziabad.
