2 May 2024, DDPS School, Govindpuram, Ghaziabad – Today, Ghaziabad Parents Association and parents of students studying in DDPS staged a dharna here. The dharna was for the fact that their children were admitted in DDPS, Sanjay Nagar, Ghaziabad, but those children are being sent to another DDPS school in Madhuban Bapu Dham, 10 km away. The first thing is whether this second school is authorized and if not, will the branches of DDPS be considered authorized?

This dharna was supported by the Ghaziabad unit of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha.

National President of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Veer Chakra recipient Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi said that private schools are doing as they please. These schools are reluctant to admit poor children under the “Right to Education”. Instead of NCERT books, they make books worth five thousand rupees compulsory for first and second class students. And now it has reached a limit that the school where children are admitted sends them there to run another branch of their school.

Gaurav Senani Gyan Singh, District President of Ghaziabad unit of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, while supporting the protest, said that the Basic Education Officer should take cognizance of this. Additional District Magistrate and Basic Education Officer were talked to and a notice was issued to the school. The notice is attached. It is written in the notice that DDPS, Sanjay Nagar should not send its students to DDPS, Madhuban Bapu Dham and if they do not do so, their recognition will be cancelled.

President of Ghaziabad Parents Association, Mrs. Seema Tyagi, Mr. Vivek Tyagi said that the looting by these schools should be curbed. It was decided unanimously in the protest today that if DDPS School does not change its decision within 48 hours, a mass FIR will be filed against them and a voice will be raised for social boycott of this school in Ghaziabad.
