The unveiling of the statue of martyr Rajpal Singh has raised a question mark on the Defense Ministr

12 February 2024, Village Sadullapur, Bangar, Mahalwala, Meerut - Today the statue of martyr Lance Naik Rajpal Singh was unveiled here. The installation of the statue was done by the martyr's nephew and Chief Advisor of the Hapur unit of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Brij Pal Singh, with the help of himself and his family.

It has been more than 50 years since the martyrdom of martyr Rajpal Singh, but his family has not received any facility, pension or financial assistance from the Ministry of Defense. It was said that he went missing on 3 December in the Indo-Pak war of 1971.

The chief guest of the program, Andhra Pradesh Advisor Mr. Rajan Chhibber said that the government representatives themselves should go to the homes of the families of the martyrs and honor them and give them the financial assistance they deserve. Forget doing so, the Ministry of Defense did not take any cognizance even after writing repeatedly.

The statue of martyr Rajpal Singh of 15 Punjab Battalion was unveiled by chief guest Shri Rajan Chhibber, Lieutenant General AJ Singh, Major General R Bhati, Brij Pal Singh and the martyr's elder brother Harpal Singh.

National President of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Veer Chakra recipient Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi told that martyr Rajpal Singh was martyred on 3 December 1971 at Hussainiwala bridge. After that his dead body was not found and he was declared missing. According to section 108 of Indian Evidence Act of 1872, a missing soldier can be declared dead i.e. martyr after 7 years.

It has been 50 years since his martyrdom but his family has not received any financial help.

On this occasion, President of Uttar Pradesh unit of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha Manveer Singh, Convenor Rajendra Singh Olakh, President of Women's Wing of Western Uttar Pradesh Suman Tyagi, State Spokesperson of Uttar Pradesh Gyanendra Tyagi, Mukesh Ji Shyam Verma Ji, Subhash Ji, Manjeet Singh Kochar (Meerut), Gumparit Singh Bagga (Saharanpur), Ravindra Chaudhary along with headmen and public representatives of nearby villages were present.
