A war memorial was erected in Pune to pay tributes and Shradanjali to indian soldiers who laid down their life during the first world war. It has since been expanded.While commemorating the 100th anniversary of this event, the troops of BEG gave a grand March past to the chief of the army staff Gen Manoj Pandey.

On this occasion,a big salute was given to the Gallantry.The Chief of the Army Staff Gen Manoj Pandey presented mementoes to the Gallantry Award winners and their next of kin,in case of posthumous awardees.

Col Tejendra Pal Tyagi from Ghaziabad,Uttar Pradesh was the first to be felicitated by a memento and a shawl.
