4 November 2023, Village Revdi, Revda, Muradnagar, Ghaziabad – Today, the statue of Sepoy Banarasi Das, who was martyred in 1962, was unveiled here in a program organized by Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha.
Martyred soldier Banarasi Das was a resident of village Revdi Revda and was martyred while fighting with the enemy in extremely difficult circumstances in the 1962 war. His wife Brahmavati is currently around 98 years old. At the time of martyrdom his age would have been around 25 years. There is a son who was raised by the martyr's wife and did not remarry and at this stage of age told her grandchildren that a statue of my husband should be installed.
Today, Honorable General Dr. VK Singh, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Aviation, Government of India, Shri Rajan Chhibber, Advisor to Andhra Pradesh, National President of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi, recipient of Vir Chakra, martyr's wife Brahmavati and son Brijesh Kasana paid tribute to the martyr. Unveiled the statue of and offered garland to him.
General VK Singh told that soldier Shaheed Banarasi Das was posted in Brave Company of 2nd Rajput Battalion on the border of China. On 20 October, China attacked and on 21 October, Sepoy Banarasi Das was martyred. This was the battalion of Rajput Regiment in which 288 soldiers were martyred. Even in Azad Hind Fauj there was not such a large number of martyrs. He assured all possible support to the martyr's family.

National President of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Veer Chakra recipient Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi, while conducting the program, said that if a leader loses the election, he can fight again but a soldier can sacrifice his life only once. That is why the sacrifice of a soldier is called the supreme sacrifice. Therefore, every martyrdom on the border deserves the highest respect.
