Major General GD Bakshi, who received the Army Medal, while honoring the veteran fighters and their relatives of the Azad Hind Fauj and at the time of publication of his book (The Military History of INA and Netaji), said that there is no such country in the world which has Martyr Memorial may have been broken even if it was of enemy country, but British had blown up the Martyr Memorial built by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in Singapore with a cannon. Although in 1968 this monument was rebuilt by people with mutual donations, but it clearly shows that the British used to tremble in the name of Netaji even in their dreams.

Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi, who received the Vir Chakra, said that a martyr memorial should be built for the 26 thousand martyred soldiers of the Azad Hind Fauj of 60 thousand.
